On January 28–29, representatives from the ERICs, policymakers, and invited stakeholders convened for the ERIC Forum Annual Meeting 2025. The Nature Restoration Law, which took effect on August 18, is a pivotal regulation aimed at restoring the EU's biodiversity, halting further biodiversity loss, and supporting climate neutrality by 2050. This law sets ambitious targets, requiring EU Member States to implement restoration measures across at least 20% of the EU's land and sea areas by 2030, with the goal of expanding these efforts to all ecosystems in need by 2050.
