Analysis and
Experimentation
on Ecosystems
AnaEE-ERIC (Analysis and Experimentation on Ecosystems) is a research network connecting cutting-edge facilities dedicated to global change ecology—the study of how ecosystems work and respond to environmental change such as drought, pollution and climate change.
We bring scientists together and make more than 60 experimental, analytical and modelling facilities accessible to the research community and beyond.
By uniting Europe’s most advanced facilities and leading experts, AnaEE-ERIC provides crucial knowledge, resources and evidence supporting practical solutions for climate change adaptation, resilience, food security, clean water, and biodiversity protection.
Covering all Ecosystems of Europe
Bold Experiments for a Resilient Future
AnaEE-ERIC provides access to three types of cutting-edge facilities. The experimental facilities combine open-air and enclosed systems — including aquatic facilities — to enable cutting-edge ecological research. They span Europe’s climatic zones from subarctic to Mediterranean, covering major land use types from managed farms to natural ecosystems. The analytical facilities deliver advanced biological, physical, chemical, and socio-economic analyses for deeper insights. Modelling facilities provide access to state-of-the-art numerical models and software development tools that enhance data analysis and enable predictions of ecosystem responses to global changes.

Providing services to our members, the research community and beyond!
Our network of experimental facilities span national borders and cover all European ecosystems and includes analytical services for complex measurements, as well as modelling platforms. For a description of AnaEE-ERIC and its network of facilities, go to facilities on our website or discover them directly. Through EU-funded projects, we can offer free access for researchers and the private sector. The insights generated will help decision-makers, innovators, and educators develop policies, technologies, and solutions for sustainable environmental managemenent.
We Are Open For CollaborationS with the private sector!
Whether you represent a company working with research, food production, farming or climate resiliense we are open to discuss different types of collaboration.
Why Choose Us
Pooling climate change researchers and tools under one roof
AnaEE-ERIC’s main goals are to accelerate ecology research, to better understand how anthropic drivers such as climate change affect ecosystem functions and services. We provide a novel approach by simulating future climate conditions, and other drivers such as management methods to address ecological sustainability challenges for Europe.
