The European landmark for experimental ecology
AnaEE-ERIC (Analysis and Experimentation on Ecosystems) is a pan-European Research Infrastructure. A Research Infrastructure is like a collaborative network where multiple countries combine their scientific expertise and resources.
Our catalog of services features 60+ highly instrumented installations that provide services for the study of ecosystems under several pressures, such as climate change, land management pollution and more. All types of continental ecosystems are represented, including tropical, mountains, wetland, forests, freshwaters and agro-ecosystems.
While we don't conduct research directly, we provide users with access to state-of-the-art resources through our comprehensive ISIA catalog. Our unique network of laboratories, facilities, analytical tools, and modeling services span national borders and cover all European ecosystems. We also drive EU-funded projects, benefiting members and supporting researchers. The insights generated help decision-makers, innovators, and educators develop policies, technologies, and solutions for sustainable environmental management.

Our network
Our founding members, consisting of several countries and their universities and national institutions, play a crucial role in the functioning and success of AnaEE-ERIC by ensuring effective coordination, resource management, and high-quality research at the national level. They contribute significantly to advancing scientific knowledge, informing policy decisions, and promoting sustainable development across Europe.
Our research facilities
Our research facilities allow to simulate changes in environmental drivers such as land-use changes, agricultural management practices, droughts, pollution and biological invasions covers a wide range of ecosystem types such as forests, wetland, managed-and unmanaged land, in all European climates - from the subarctic to the Mediterranean.
AnaEE-ERIC in EU-Projects
AnaEE-ERIC is collaborating in a number of EU-projects and we are pleased that the expertise of our network and resources across all members of the network can be shared with the larger community. AnaEE is a member of ENVRI - a cluster of the European Environmental Research Infrastructures) and LS-RI (Life Sciences).
