We’re proud to share our 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a year of growth, collaboration, and impact in experimental ecology.

Key achievements:

  • Full operational capacity across all four service centres—Central Hub (France), Technology Centre (Denmark), Interface & Synthesis Centre (Czech Republic), and Data & Modelling Centre (Italy)—solidifying AnaEE-ERIC as Europe’s leading infrastructure for ecosystem experimentation.
  • Expansion of cutting-edge facilities, including Finland’s Stable Isotope Laboratory (SILL), which enables high-resolution isotope analysis to study plant, soil, and microbial responses to environmental change.
  • Groundbreaking research impact: A study using data from AnaEE Italy’s ozone FACE facility (published in The Lancet Planetary Health) found that a 5% increase in urban tree canopy cover could prevent nearly 12,000 premature deaths annually across Europe—demonstrating the life-saving potential of nature-based solutions.

From groundbreaking projects like AgroServ and Microbes-4-Climate to the launch of our AnaEE Science Conference 2026, we’re driving innovation to address climate change and biodiversity loss.

AnaEE-ERIC Annual Reports

AnaEE-ERIC i a nutshell

AnaEE-ERIC is an ESFRI Landmark European Research Infrastructure – providing resources within global change and ecosystem research, such as data, modelling and experimental facilities. The facilities are able to manipulate real ecosystems under conditions like drought, pollution and climate change.

AnaEE-ERIC offers capacities to develop multidisciplinary approaches at the frontiers of life sciences, agronomy and environmental sciences. What sets AnaEE-ERIC apart is the experimental approach – our ability to simulate real-world environmental changes and predict their impacts.
