Sustainable Development Goals & European Green Deal
AnaEE-ERIC’s contribution to global sustainability goals
AnaEE-ERIC and the European Green Deal
As a pan-European research infrastructure in ESFRI’s Food and Health and Environment domains, AnaEE directly supports key European Green Deal objectives:
Climate Ambition (2030/2050): AnaEE’s core mission aligns with the EU’s climate adaptation strategy by developing and testing mitigation and adaptation measures in response to global environmental changes.
Farm to Fork Strategy: Through experimental facilities in agro-ecosystems and aquatic environments, AnaEE studies agricultural techniques that preserve ecosystem functioning and enable climate adaptation. Farmer representatives participate in the Stakeholder Committee to ensure practical relevance.
Ecosystems and Biodiversity: AnaEE tests restoration and conservation measures that support evidence-based regulations, with jurists and policymakers integrated into the Stakeholder Committee.
Zero Pollution Ambition: AnaEE’s experimental platforms assess pollutant impacts on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems and forecast future effects, helping evaluate pollution prevention policies.
AnaEE-ERIC and the Sustainable Development Goals
As the Research Infrastructure in experimental ecosystem ecology, AnaEE’s goals are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) from the 2030 agenda for sustainable development adopted by all the United Nations Member States in 2015. AnaEE research contributes to these goals, helping EU to achieve them through science-based policies, economic development, support to better management practices, and by raising citizen awareness. As a body and employer, AnaEE-ERIC will also contribute to these goals.
