AnaEE ERIC is pleased to announce its participation in the upcoming European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2026. Our Central Access Manager and Operations Officer, Dorra Gharbi, will present an abstract in Session BG3.8 – Advancing Ecosystem Research: Responses to Climate Change and Anthropogenic Influences Using Experimental, Observational, and Modeling Approaches.
The abstract, titled “AnaEE ERIC: Advancing Experimental Ecosystem Research through Aligned Research Infrastructures“, highlights AnaEE ERIC’s pivotal role in coordinating large-scale, pan-European experimental and analytical research. By integrating enclosed ecotrons and open-air platforms across diverse ecosystems—from agricultural lands to peatlands—AnaEE ERIC enables controlled manipulation of key environmental drivers such as drought, elevated CO₂, and temperature. This infrastructure supports innovative studies on nature-based solutions, including agroforestry and sustainable farming practices.
Key achievements and ongoing efforts include:
- Multi-site experiments on ecosystem responses to drought and warming.
- Mechanistic studies of carbon and nutrient cycling in controlled environments.
- Development of standardised data catalogues and API-based access to foster interoperability and cross-platform research.
AnaEE ERIC’s participation at EGU2026 underscores our commitment to enhancing collaboration, standardising protocols, and generating actionable knowledge to address global environmental challenges. We look forward to engaging with the scientific community and sharing insights on how networked research infrastructures can inform both science and policy.
Join us at EGU2026 to learn more about our work and explore opportunities for collaboration!
