SUMMARY:AgroServ Connect - Biotechnology & circular agroecology with IBISBA
DESCRIPTION:Join the next AgroServ Connect webinar on February 12\, 2026 at 11:00 (CET) | Register at this link: https://lnkd.in/enn4FE8M\n—— \nThe transition to a sustainable agroecological model requires more than just innovative ideas; it demands the capacity to scale them. In the upcoming AgroServ Connect webinar\, we explore how IBISBA serves as a critical catalyst in this journey. As the premier EU Research Infrastructure for Biotechnology\, IBISBA provides the advanced bioprocessing facilities and expertise necessary to transform raw laboratory findings into standardized\, industrial-ready solutions. \nA standout example of this integrated approach is the work of Professor Sonia Khoufi (University of Sfax\, Tunisia). Her research addresses the complex challenge of managing underutilized Mediterranean waste streams—specifically seagrass wrack and local biowastes. Through the AgroServ Transnational/Virtual Access program\, Prof. Khoufi utilizes specialized fungal enzyme pretreatments to enhance the anaerobic co-digestion of these materials. The goal is two-fold: maximizing methane potential for renewable energy while simultaneously producing high-quality\, nutrient-rich digestate. This project demonstrates how leveraging European RIs can lead to the development of eco-friendly biofertilizers that restore soil health and reduce reliance on synthetic chemical inputs. \nRegister to join here.

SUMMARY:AnaEE TechUp: Multispectral and Superspectral technologies for Smart Harvesting
DESCRIPTION:Abstract: Sub-optimal harvesting is estimated to cost global agriculture around 250 billion dollars per year through in-field losses and downstream spoilage.\nMicaSense has now released the RedEdge-P Green – part of the expanded MicaSense series – a multispectral camera specifically designed to detect the early onset of senescence and pre-harvest stress. This enables earlier intervention\, reduced losses\, and more precise harvest timing.\n\nThe camera’s bands are optimised to characterise anthocyanins\, carotenoids (including the xanthophyll cycle)\, and the progressive loss of chlorophyll-a – three independent indicators of plant maturity. When paired with Red and Blue sister cameras\, users gain a full 15-band configuration for advanced modelling\, species differentiation and disease identification.\n\nIn this session Simon Yates will outline MicaSense’s development work in smart harvesting\, explain the technology behind the new Green camera\, and discuss the potential benefits for agricultural researchers\, professional growers and ecologists.\n\nSpeaker: Simon Yates from EagleNXT\n\nWhen? February 24\, 2026\nWhere? Online\, links below\n\nJoin by clicking here\nOr download the calendar (.ics) by clicking here
