SUMMARY:4th International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Removal
DESCRIPTION:4th International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Removal (formerly International Conference on Negative CO₂ Emissions)\nThe CMCC Foundation\, as the coordinator of the UPTAKE project\, and Politecnico di Milano will be hosting the 4th International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Removal (formerly the International Conference on Negative CO₂ Emissions) on June 10–12\, 2026 at Politecnico di Milano\, Milan\, Italy. \nThe event aims to highlight the latest scientific developments in the field of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR). It offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the global dialogue on the topic and discuss the latest scientific findings and innovations in this field with a broad community of stakeholders. \nThe conference is the fourth in a series of events aimed at addressing the rapidly increasing importance of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) in climate research and in meeting climate targets. The first two conferences in this series were conceived and held at Chalmers University of Technology\, in Gothenburg\, Sweden and the last edition was organized by the CO2RE – The Greenhouse Gas Removal Hub in Oxford\, UK. \nThe event brings together scientists and experts across a wide range of disciplines and research topics – including science and engineering\, policy\, economics and public perceptions – to forge connections and to create a platform for wider discussion of the role of CDR in climate action and sustainable development. \n

SUMMARY:World Biodiversity Forum WBF - Leading Transformation Together
DESCRIPTION:Under the theme of Leading Transformation Together\, the fourth edition of the World Biodiversity Forum WBF will take place from Sunday\, 14 June to Friday\, 19 June 2026 in Davos\, Switzerland. \nBending the curve of biodiversity loss\, and addressing the interconnected planetary crises that negatively impact planetary health and social justice requires the development of actionable solutions based on the best available knowledge\, jointly across sectors and generations. It also requires addressing the root causes of these crises\, current social and cultural pattern and practices\, by co-developing biodiversity-positive futures\, and creating structures and practices that are just and equitable. Also\, the operationalization of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework urgently needs strong support beyond the governmental structures. The World Biodiversity Forum 2026 contributes to these developments by convening the community to build broad and strong leadership and networks for transformation\, bringing science\, arts\, society\, and businesses together\, across generations. WBF2026 builds on the valuable experience from previous World Biodiversity Forums (read more).
